EFR Instructor

Learn how to teach confidence to care

Knowing how to respond in an Emergency is important to divers and non-divers alike. As an EFR Instructor, you can teach CPR and First Aid skills based on internationally recognised emergency care guidelines, and you can offer courses to anyone. our students finish the course feeling confident with their new skills and ready to help someone in need. The EFR Instructor rating is required to become a PADI Instructor. However, you can become a PADI EFR Instructor without being a diving professional.

EFR Instructor Course Schedule

Two days of training

The EFR Instructor course only takes 2 days. If you are on the way of becoming a PADI Instructor, the EFR Instructor training is scheduled during the 15 days of the IDC. We also offer the EFR Instructor course separately with the schedule below. The training focuses on teaching you how to be a coach that creates a positive learning environment. Our aim is for you to feel comfortable to teach an EFR course independently.

08:30 to 15:00 | Meet your EFR Instructor Trainer and get started straight away!  Besides learning how to structure and organise EFR courses, you learn how to present the EFR course content, encourage self-discovery in students, evaluate students skill mastery and create effective scenario-based learning experiences. Furthermore, you will practice to teach at least 2 skills each from First Aid and Secondary Care. Our EFR Instructor Trainer will also happily demonstrate more skills, until you feel confident to teach them yourself.

08:30 to 15:00 | Discuss any questions you may have regarding the EFR Instructor theory before completing the final exam. Afterwards practice how to teach Care for Children and receive helpful guidance on how to promote the EFR course in a variety of environments.
