Enter a different world with the PADI Freediver course. No matter if you are already a scuba diver or have no previous diving training at all, this experience is something completely different. Freediving is about inward power, relaxation, control and exploring the ocean in the most natural way. Not sure you can do it? Our passionate PADI Freediver Instructor will guide you every step of the way – you will be surprised what your body and mind are capable of!
Prior to starting your PADI Freediver course, you will receive the PADI Freediver Touch materials, allowing you to study the freediving theory in an interactive and fun way on a tablet, smartphone or computer. You can complete all the theory prior to your arrival, or use one of our tablets in the dive centre we provide for free. During the 2-day PADI Freediver course on Koh Tao, you will practice static and dynamic apnea, with a goal of 90 seconds breath-holding and 25 metres dynamic apnea. For the PADI Freediver portion in the ocean, the ambition is to reach a depth of maximum 16 meters with a constant weight freedive.
08:30 to 17:00 | Meet your PADI Freediver Instructor at the dive centre and get an introduction to the world of freediving. Review the theory and any questions you may have. Have a light lunch and then head to our swimming pool to practice static and dynamic apnea. Step by step your instructor will work with you to improve your mindset and body control.
08:30 to 17:00 | Your PADI Freediving Instructor will give you further tips and tricks to improve your apnea skills and extra information on the lifestyle of a freediver. In the afternoon, you join our dive trip for the open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures.
You need adequate swimming skills to become a PADI Freediver. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
PADI Freediver Medical History Form carefully. The purpose of this form is to find out if you should be examined by a doctor before participating in the PADI Freediver course. A positive response to a question does not necessarily disqualify you from freediving. A positive response means that there is a preexisting condition that may affect your safety and you must seek the advice of your physician prior to engaging in dive activities. As not all conditions can be cleared on Koh Tao we strongly recommend to see a physician prior to your arrival. Please read the
