The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. It’s the perfect choice if you are short on time but really want to become a certified diver and learn what scuba diving is all about. Besides some theory and a pool session you will also complete two dives in the ocean on two beautiful divesites around Koh Tao. The PADI Scuba Diver certification will allow you to go diving worldwide to a maximum depth of 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional.
The PADI Scuba Diver Course is basically half of the PADI Open Water Course. During the 2 1/2 days you learn the basic theory behind scuba diving, practice the most important scuba skills in our diving pool and complete 2 dives in the ocean to a maximum depth of 12 metres. Sounds like a lot of fun? It is!
16:00 to 17:00 | Orientation: You will meet your fellow students, get an introduction to our dive centre and complete the required paperwork. Every student receives a tablet device filled with information about diving and most importantly the PADI Open Water Diver digital manual.
Homework | Watch the PADI Open Water videos 1 -3 and complete the corresponding knowledge reviews.
08:30 to 17:30 | Meet your Instructor at the dive centre for the academic session, introducing you to the theory of scuba diving. You will go through your homework and complete a short multiple-choice quiz after each chapter. If you have any questions you get answers directly from your experienced Instructor. After a lunch break you head to our diving pool and take your first breaths under water and practice the first skills of your PADI Scuba Diver course. The day ends usually around 17:30, depending on your and your fellow students’ needs.
11:45 to 17:30 | Sleep in and meet your Instructor at 11:45 for your first dives in the ocean! The day ends around 17:30, just in time to enjoy the sunset and your free graduation drink!
You need to be able to float or tread water for 10 minutes without help or support from any flotation devices.
Medical Questionnaire carefully. The purpose of this form is to find out if you should be examined by a doctor before participating in diver training. A positive response to a question does not necessarily disqualify you from diving. A positive response means that there is a preexisting condition that may affect your safety while diving and you must seek the advice of your physician prior to engaging in dive activities. As not all conditions can be cleared on Koh Tao we strongly recommend to see a physician prior to your arrival. Please read the
